I like cards a lot. I collect playing cards and I'm an aspiring cartomancer. Every day when I wake up, I will be pulling a card of the minor arcana and writing a poem/short bit of prose and making a few notes about the card each day (I won't update every day though). They will be largely unedited and off the cuff. I will post some of the cards I own for fun enjoy them

3 of cups
Oh sister, oh sister
from out the old ground
raise your chalice for me
for all we've seen
and that will be
Oh woman, oh woman
in red, gazing longingly at she
raise your old chalice for me
your grapes are sweet
though they sour in the cold breeze
Yes ladies, yes ladies
there's a clearing for us
let us toast to vitality
for many long years we'll reap the same yields
so long as you remember me
--- --- ---
Interestingly, there seems to be a coloring error on the rightmost chalice’s base. It’s a flesh tone instead of the yellow/gold of the rest of the chalice… 3 women, 3 cups. Yellow R woman looks scheming, Grey L looks calm; perhaps yellow and red are staring into eachother’s eyes… note yellow holding the grapes/whatever to the side… Pumpkins + grapes(?). New commentary: There’s something ominous about this card. It’s like the gathering of a coven at harvest time. I don’t necessarily think it’s meant to come across that way which almost makes it more unnerving.
9 of cups
I’d rather not look behind me
I haven’t the need;
indeed, what use would it be?
Empty or full, they’re mine all the same
and I’d rather them overrunning
--- --- ---
Original notes: Cups behind on table suggests complacency — note the smug expression with arms crossed. Clearly not concerned and appears well off... Arch = stability? Stable shape...False confidence? Height of the table makes the cups difficult to access while seated... Additional now: To be honest I don't like the look of this guy. I wouldn't drink with him

The house on the hill had long been bifurcated by a long river the shape of a great cat’s bristled tail, over which was but one pass crafted by the father’s hand, a wide wood plank affixed to the floor through careful use of nails collected from the village’s smith. Around its edge were thick staes fashioned for the purpose of protecting the children from their own foolishness. They concerned themselves primarily with the northern wing of the home; from here they danced — with some level of caution, always shying away from the faithfully, but inadequately covered chasm — and sang their youth away. Past their window great spans of grass grew.
The husband and wife lived south of the children. They spent their days in discussion of various things. Some days they spoke of politics, of intrigue in the court and barbarians on the far edges of the kingdom. They spoke of the songs of their children, how naturally those kinds of amusement came to them. Most often, they spoke in terror of the prospects of their farm; they never seemed particularly confident in its capabilities, no matter how loyal it remained to them. Slow days of anguish over their harvest’s doomed future.
One day there had been rains that made the river overrun. The lovers scrambled to their window and saw their fields saturated. They ran frantically to tend to their allotment. They labored the entire day at manually draining their field until they were spent and had to shamble back into their beds. The children woke up and tended to their daily tasks. As the son pulled up the wooden bucket on a rope that gave their home access to the river, he looked through the window and saw a rainbow stretching across the cyan sky framed by their old wood windows. The children brought the water and shook their parents as they marveled at what was before them. The adults praised the lord and the children returned to song and dance.

4 color rainbow — redish man, blue woman, repeated for children… 8 visible trees, perhaps the others are hidden behind lovers. Kids between the 2 trees (halfway~point)… River flowing from house; wealth is internal? Kingdom of heaven is within you… Upside down is a smile. New commentary: I like this one a lot. It’s so jubilant. This is probably the most unabashedly positive and bright card I’ve pulled so far. It makes me feel grateful and happy.
Page of Cups
The page stood atop the island’s high yellowbrick walls over the sea’s dark azure swellings. A darkness was forming to the north and the thalassic omens were aligned with the astrologers in their prognosis of tempestous times to come. This was of little concern to the page; why should he concern himself with the diseased predictions of maladjusted beggars that lived off of public charity? All they had were theories and ambitions.
So, the page stood still on the castle’s walls, in awe at the fish he had retrieved from the ungulating ocean waters (with the aid of a servant — the page was certainly capable of the deed himself, but found it displeasureable in that moment). He had never truly observed a fish that had not been cooked. What light could permeate the clouds relfected off of the fish’s scales in the matter of metal. If the page focused his attention on his catch’s eye he could see his own. He stared longingly into the eye until the torrential rain clouded his vision.

Original: Blue page; headwear (waveshaped) + fish + water are all the same color... Floral shirt + fish = connection to nature? Rough water... Added now: Why he lwk gay lol. I like him looking at the fish it's charming
Swords of 6
Sometimes, I'd just like to lay down
my pen (which they say is mightier
than the sword)
and shut my eyes
Not forever — just until everyone
hears the birds-of-many-colors singing
feels the sun through their window
smells of nature’s bounty
tastes of a breakfast worth eating
and sees a new world’s bloom
I can’t even pray
I am more familiar with my bed than myself
--- --- ---
1 man + sword and 3 swords on bed... the head of the man is the hilt of the sword... Solitude — 1 man, 1 sword, 1 essence... trinitarian — 3 expressions of 1 sword with church stuff in background (mosaic)

Sitting on a little ships
headed for the sea
the shrouded riverpeople huddled
on a journey to the east
There must be something great,
or they wouldn't come this way,
the ferryman thinks
Is it romance?
That enchating, worldly dance
births a divine madness
and leaves painful absesses
in its frosted, basal sadness
along life's long, twisting passes
Is it glory?
The call of wild stories
has long attracted man;
a great fortune on foreign sands
or the right to gore another by hand
has torn many to strands
He knows not what they seek,
and it's none of his concern
for phantasms keep men alive
--- --- ---
Original: Man, women and child on a sea voyage... The swords appear to entrap the woman... Added now: I find this to be rather romantic. A new voyage into the unknown. It's an interesting image
4 of wands
A castle hewn out of rock rises from the landscape after many years of sculpting. Inside there patches of flowers with a grassy courtyard. Rainy mornings were as nice as clear ones in this castle; petrichor in the morning signals that the flowers won't need watering.
--- --- ---
2 women lifting rosegays (boquets), 3 people off to the left. Mediterrannean society (carthage, Italy)? Flowers surrounding the castle lower entrance — the castle looks sculpted out of the landscape… Yellow suggests propsperity. New commentary: Very idyllic setting. Kind of place I could live for a long time. Would love to be a dirty old man king drinking wine here

Try as you may
what’s not meant to be uprooted stays;
hacking away at earther staves
leads men to early graves.
Cease your toils, take rest a day.
Branches may need pruning
but do so with a tender hand —
work too harshly and the tree shan’t stand.
--- --- ---
Original: 2, 2, 1 | (1 (man’s head)) + 3... Man vs. Nature? The wands must have grown rather large to be this high in the air (look at background); even the relatively short one the man holds is 1.5 heads taller than him when he’s leaning on it... Added now: I really like the feeling of this card. It seems to be about the sisyphusean struggle. There's always something new to deal with. The way it combines this with nature feels powerful too. The natural state of life is growth and reaction
8 of wands
Where are we going?
I cannot (truthfully) claim to know
the path’s truth is slow
to reveal itself
I’ve emptied our shelf
of supplies; we’ll manage well
The plains, the stream, the small things going
the sun, the moon, the waterwheel’s turning

4, 2, 2 = (2x2 leaves[3rd, 1st, 2nd]], 4[4th), (2nd], 3+1[1st]), (2x2[2nd], 2[1st]) / (6th, 4th, 5th, 8th), (7th, 3rd), (2nd, 1st)… All have 2 leaves of 3 on sides and some have different end patters. New commentary: Reminds me of the three arrows symbol. They move through the air without apparent purpose.
2 of pentacles
Im having fun
they tell me
Yes, Im enjoying myself in catatonia
The ticker goes up, up, down, ...
the trade winds shift
and I guess Im having fun
--- --- ---
Rough seas with 2 cups that are apprximately behind the pentacles. Note that the man’s feet match the direction of the ships (left down, right up) and the opposite is true of the pentacles. Perhaps the smallest ship shall prosper and the largest shall fail? Infinite loop suggests some timeless cycle. Starts high and ends low… Yellow + red sails — clash of peace and war, prosperity vs. bloodshed. New commentary: An energy of change hangs over this card. There’s a sense of the swinging of the pendulum; the waves go up and down, ships go back and forth. The apathy on the man’s face really sticks out to me, he’s so sick of it all. Big ass coins
